‘Christian Wicca: It IS a Religion!’

From September 2011

When we hear the word ‘Wicca,’ we associate it immediately with the art or religion of witchcraft.

Wicca has been described as a religion that affords its followers the freedom and liberty to use spells, incantations, chantings, and corporate prayer to bring about healing.  Healing of what is termed ‘Mother Earth,’ healing of individuals’ bodies from ailments and diseases, as well as the healing of nature itself.  Wiccans also celebrate festivals-eight of them per year-that are called ‘sabbats.’  They believe there is a god and a goddess.  They believe that the Trinity is a goddess.  Wiccans started getting popular in the late 1950s, but their foundations were set long before then.  As early as the early 1900s, witchcraft and New Age practices were being openly practiced in other countries.

Wicca was brought about primarily for the purpose of turning the stereotypical tide of how witchcraft was generally perceived.  Due to the Witch hunts of the past, and subsequent persecutions and even executions of alleged and proven witches (i.e. Salem Witch Hunts in Massachusetts), society had succeeded in making the general public afraid of witches and witchcraft.

What Wicca’s purpose was was to show the world that witches mean ‘no harm’ and want to help people, the earth.  Hence the terms ‘good witch’ and ‘good witchcraft’ that would be adopted later on in the 20th century.

I was quite shocked to discover that 1) Wicca is now recognized as a viable ‘religion,’ and 2) that there is a sect of Wiccans who call themselves ‘Christians’ or ‘Trinitarian Wiccans!’

One has to question…How is it possible to combine teachings of Wicca and Christianity?

Christian, or Trinitarian Wiccans also believe that Jesus Christ existed, that He was a prophet and a teacher.  They attempt to follow ‘some’ Christian teachings, but by virtue of the very essence of Wicca, they cannot because it will require for them to reject some of the very things that makes them Wiccan.

Hence the term-and new sect of Wicca-that is now known as Trinitarian, or Christian, Wicca!

This is nothing more than another classic example of mixing two religions and coming up with yet another concoction, a new set of belief systems, and recruiting followers in which to label them as such.

What caught my attention about this new sect is the fact that these are witches who are open about their agenda….and have no problem being associated with beliefs in Christianity!

But I also want to point out that SOME of these Trinitarian Wiccans possibly have infiltrated the organized church system and have brought in with them a whole new array of deceit, error, and false doctrine.

This would explain all of the false doctrine and error that is latent in a lot of sermons across church pulpits.

The way that this has been able to happen is because one of the prominent characteristics of Wiccans is that they desire to do good.  Their desire (their worship) of earth and THIS life.  Their desire to see others healed, at any cost.  Their general acceptance and practice of the supernatural.

These are all characteristics that have been accepted into the organized church system.

Due to the lack of GODLY GENUINE POWER (because God is no longer in the churches), church people generally have-out of desperation-accepted ANY FORM of power to step in, so it can appear that God is still there…

2 Timothy 3:4-6

Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts…

(I also think it ironic that we call male witches ‘warlocks.’   A main student of probably the most famous witch in this country, Laurie Cabot, clarifies that a warlock is not a male witch; the term warlock means ‘traitor.’ So generally speaking, male witches like to call themselves witches as well).  Interesting…

But anyway, the lack of power in the organized church system has brought about an amalgamation-a mixture, a merger of sorts-an acceptance of the merger of the clean and the unclean.  The vile with the holy.

And along with these mergers (for trust, there are many more such ‘mergers’ going on with mainstream christianity i.e. Crislam) is the trend towards what is termed as ‘religious tolerance.’

Tolerance is one of the ways the enemy has been able to slowly but surely infiltrate popular thinking-in and out of the church system.  To tolerate something is to give it acceptance.  To not call something evil, that IS inherently evil.  To not call wrong wrong.

The Word of God tells us often to shun evil, and cleave to that which is good.  We are not to embrace evil, even as a means to attain good.

The organized church system has embraced evil, to do good, and given full access to pulpits across this country to witches.

Some of these witches are very popular.  Most of them most would not label or term them as witches, per se, because they are blinded to the very characteristics of witches, Wicca and religion in general.

As long as they can produce-produce that healing, produce that deliverance, produce that answer to prayer-that is what most people are concerned with…no matter at what cost.

I saw something very interesting on TV today:  I saw a Wiccan prayer service.  They were singing, chanting (in English, by the way), they were calling upon the gods and goddesses.  They were praying for someone’s healing.  They chanted ‘Blessings!  Blessings!’  Then they clapped and were dismissed.

Looked just like one of those ‘prayer meetings’ I used to attend when I went to church.  MORE than one!

REAL believers-those who have not allowed themselves to tolerate or fall for the mixture(s) of doctrines and belief systems that are so popular today-must NOT ‘tolerate’ mixtures of christianity in the guise of showing the world we are viable, relevant, produce results or productive.  Or tolerant.

If this is not proof positive that one needs to come out and be separate, I don’t know what is.

“I Can’t Find A Church!” – An Online Deliverance Ministry

By Pamela Sheppard

” Many readers and visitors to will be shocked to hear a minister of 30 years write that for most of you, it is best that you not attend church in your local community. I served as a pastor for about 15 of the 27 years both denominational and nondenominational service. Today, I personally believe that a person can grow spiritually without regularly attending an organized church. Most definitely, you should assemble with the saints, but the word of God does not lay out a detailed order of service, nor does it suggest the day you should assemble, the time or even the nature of the place or building where gathering together should take place. We live in a computerized world, where we can “assemble” 24/7.

Simply put, I truly believe that the organized church as it now stands will be completely revamped by the Lord. Why? Because quite frankly, the traditional structures are not working. When I wrote 3 of my 6 books, I was hopeful that repentance would bring about reformation and renewal to the organized church. However, the love of money, which is the root of ALL evil, has permeated most of the church and I seriously doubt if the Lord is going to allow it to continue to exist in its present state. Judgement is HERE (for the organized church) and I shudder at what is happening to church and to churchgoers. In the meantime, for those of you who feel that you need to assemble in an organized church, the following comments are provided for you to assist you in your pursuit to find a church.

The following excerpt is taken from one of the chapters in “Faces of the Religious Demon.” If after you read this you would like to obtain either the ebook or the softcover, click here. In truth, I do not believe that Jesus intended for any one who follows Him to lower their spiritual guard by relying on others to watch on his behalf. Just as we don’t need a weather man to tell us that spring is coming, we also don’t need people to complicate the obvious. Case in point. If the Anti-Christ is actually a human being, then it is clear to me that he shall come forth out of Christianity for a very simple reason. Satan has had a seat in the organized church for centuries. There is no better place for the devil to conceal, prepare and empower his son of evil and destruction than within a worldly Christian system.

The word of God clearly testifies not only to the fact that demons were operating during the Lord’s earthly ministry, but that renewed demonic activity will manifest in the latter days. (I Timothy Ch:4:1-4) Paul’s warning to Timothy does not merely relate to new manifestations of evil in the world but to an ever-increasing apostasy in the professing church, a cult promoted by seducing spirits of a highly sensitive spirituality. In spite of this infiltration by demons into the organized church, I still believe there is a remnant of believers within the system that GOD HIMSELF is calling out.  However, the organized church is an institution created by man, not even described or promoted by the Word of God:

“…Realize that being part of a group that calls itself a “church” does not make you saved, holy, righteous, or godly any more than being in Yankee Stadium makes you a professional baseball player. Participating in church-based activities does not necessarily draw you closer to God or prepare you for a life that satisfies Him or enhances your existence….Sadly, many people will label this view ‘blasphemy.’. However, you should realize that the Bible neither describes nor promotes the local church as we know it today. Many centuries ago, religious leaders created the prevalent form of ‘church’ that is so widespread in our society to help people be better followers of Christ. But the local church many have come to cherish—the services, offices, programs, buildings, ceremonies—is neither biblical nor unbiblical. It is a-biblical— that is, such an organization is not addressed in the Bible.” (Revolution, pg. 37) 5

Therefore, since the church model of modern times is neither promoted nor discredited in the Word of God, I believe that it’s viability should be determined by some very wise and practical applications:

1. In terms of its structure, is it an episcopal denomination or an independent body? Quite frankly, if it is a connected church, then even though it may be uncorrupted at the local level, linked to an ungodly authority or “Mother Church” (headquarters, diocese, fellowships, and the such) will eventually spoil or damage the spiritual fruits throughout the entire system. By nature of its organization, a religious demon will have a seat in high places. The complicated, political form of an episcopal church with a connected governing body should be avoided primarily due to its structure. Consequently, its bishops and leaders will be prone to cover-ups, particularly where improprieties and outright sin may be involved among its various charges. In my second book, I describe this dilemma:

“A Bishop’s power lies in his ability to appoint a pastor and fill a pulpit. Since pastors in full-time ministry are totally dependent each year upon whether or not the Bishop chooses to favor them with an appointment to a church that will be lucrative enough to continue to provide for themselves and their families, a conflict of interest automatically inherent within the Episcopal form of church government will ultimately manifest.” (The Making of A Prophet, pg. 84) 6

Dealing with sin in such a structure is like trying to eliminate roaches from a city block where all of the buildings are erected side by side and are therefore “connected”. If you bomb one apartment with a pesticide, or even exterminate an entire building, the roaches will simply run upstairs, downstairs or to the building next door. Regardless of how clean you keep your apartment, you will not be able to contain the roaches, especially after dark. Just go in the kitchen and turn on your lights and hundreds of them will be flying around as if they had wings!!! Every connected building has to be bombed from one corner to the other on the entire street, or the roaches will soon return.

So is the fate of the connected churches. The leaven of the Pharisees is impossible to contain without a complete annihilation.

2.  Where an independent church is concerned, the issue is not so much its structure but whether or not it has a system in place to avoid spiritual neglect or abuse. Within a small assembly or a mega church, every sheep in that church should have someone who personally knows him and who ministers to his personal needs. If members are compelled to go outside of their local church to receive competent counseling, deliverance, healing and recovery, then I suspect that the primary benefit experienced in church is merely a soothing of their flesh as a byproduct of the worship experience of song and praise. Moreover, congregations of this kind provide a social environment for family members. In my opinion, social contacts with Christians can be obtained at a Christian concert and family activities are available at the local YMCA. If your spiritual needs are not being met at your local church, then you are just involved in a social club and your local church has no real spiritual value. Recently I learned that state of the art children’s ministry programs can become traps due to the fact that the parents won’t leave a church even when they realize that the basic core of the church is corrupt. The pressures for dissatisfied parents to remain are exerted by the social and entertainment needs of their children.

3.  The independent churches that can be very dangerous include those that call themselves “deliverance churches.” In some of these assemblies, the religious demon and the witchcraft spirit are running rampant with counterfeits in worship, doctrine, prayer and other strange practices including a heavy emphasis on being slain in the spirit.

“A demonstration of real power is not falling slain. We see a lot of this phenomena in the ministries of TV evangelists, particularly in the Pentecostal and non-denominational churches. Demonstration of God’s power would be after you have fallen out in the spirit, what condition were you in when you got to your feet?!!! Where you healed? Were you delivered? Did God speak to you a word in due season concerning a special problem you have been challenged with? Or did you just pass out because everybody else was passing out!? ( The Making of a Prophet, pg. 199) 7

4. I agree with Dr. Rebecca Brown’s warning concerning various counterfeits manifested through the speaking in other tongues, primarily among word of faith, pentecostal and Charismatic Catholic churches:

“Christians have made the terrible mistake of assuming that ALL tongues are from God. How wrong they are!…It is well-known that many occultic rituals are done in tongues….The fact that Catholics speak in tongues is not proof that they are filled with the Holy Spirit. Too many of these precious Catholic souls assume that because they are speaking in tongues, they are saved. How can the Holy Spirit be operative and manifesting in a system of idolatry? Those involved in the Catholic Charismatic movement who really start reading and studying the Bible soon realize they must separate themselves from the idolatrous Roman Catholic Church if they are going to serve the true Jesus of the Bible.” (Prepare for War, pgs. 182,183) 8

5.  However, the crucial factors of your assessment of a local church actually relate to the security of your eternal life, which is truly where the rubber meets the road. Why go to church if, in the final analysis, you do not escape damnation by traveling the narrow way to eternal life? Assuredly, you should examine how and with what regularity the doctrines of repentance, resurrection and rebirth are being preached and taught? A church with a Jezebel influence will minimize or overlook the importance of these “3 R’s” through excessive tradition, polity and other less important priorities of doctrine.

6.  If a local church minimizes the need to learn the devices of the devil or does not even recognize the existence and the workings of demonic forces in these times, then it is in a low condition of spiritual life and power. I believe that such a church should be avoided like the plague. In fact, such ignorance on the part of a congregation’s leadership is an indication to demons of the leaders’ accommodation to them through fear, an open door to demonic influence. According to Jessie Penn-Lewis:

“A perspective view of the ages covered by the history in Bible records, shows that the rise and fall in spiritual power of the people of God, was marked by the recognition of the existence of the demoniacal host of evil. When the Church of God in the old and new dispensations was at the highest point of spiritual power, the leaders recognized, and drastically dealt with, the invisible forces of Satan and when at the lowest, they were ignored, or allowed to have free course, among the people.” (War on the Saints, 9th edition, pg.27)

Consequently, if there is no emphasis in the local church on spiritual warfare and deliverance, that church is without spiritual power.

7.  The emphasis upon the Word of God in a church should and could be a good sign; Nevertheless, it is misleading and immaterial to base your assessment of a church solely upon evidence that all its members carry bibles, yellow markers and recite scriptures. For when leadership does not rightly divide the word, then heresies posing as revelation truths give place to the doctrines of devils that Paul warned Timothy about (I Timothy 4:1): the prosperity gospel, dominion teaching, “name it and claim it”, pre-tribulation rapture, submission to authority, eternal security, no ordination for women, and other doctrines too numerous to mention even in one book.

False doctrines of this kind are skillfully birthed by teaching demons to deceive and exploit the people. If the devil had nerve enough to get “religious” by reciting scripture out of its context to tempt the Lord Jesus Himself, then he has trained his demonic army to do likewise to us. (Matthew 4:1-11)

“Out of context” preaching tends to draw those who have not truly repented nor been converted, but who are enticed to come to church by the excitement that scriptural hype can produce. Such preaching and teaching draws people, places and things to the building—those who seek blessings to get their needs met or to fulfill their dreams—but they have not really been drawn to Christ.

8.  A church after the Lord’s heart is the church of Philadelphia: those who do not deny His name and who have kept His word.(Revelation 3:7-13) This is a church that will not compromise the truth, either for the favor of the world or for unity with other churches. Since we all see through a glass darkly, a good pastor is one who continually examines if he is rightly dividing the word. When errors and contradictions are uncovered, then a good pastor openly and publicly admits to his or her mistakes, correcting any inaccurate teachings without hesitation. The Lord declared that the church of Philadelphia was of little strength, so it is clear that His assessment was not based upon numbers of members, wealth or resources. I believe that a major part of keeping His word is to go forth and cast out demons. A good church is about building people so that they can confront the demonic influences to expel the darkness in their own environment, equipping the sheep to be living stones, holy vessels for the Spirit of the Lord to dwell in.

UPDATE:  (9/22/11) I’ve come a long way since I wrote this article. In this hour, I believe that all churches have become dwelling places of demons for one primary reason. They all teach that man chooses God by a decision of his or her own free will, by saying:  “I accept Jesus” and by asking Him to “come into my heart.” Jesus is at the right hand of the Father. The Holy Ghost comes into the human spirit and not the heart. The heart is a function of the fallen soul of man and it is desperately wicked, and as such, has no capability of choosing God without the ministry of the Holy Ghost.

But even so, there is a refuge for you if you, too, have recognized and seen the organized church system is stock full of demons.

If you have seen it, too, and if you are looking for mentoring, for counseling, for deliverance and healing, please call  518-477-5759.

Are There ANY Real Prophets in THIS Age?

By Pamela Sheppard

To answer that question, ARE THERE ANY PROPHETS TODAY–  one of the signs that we are living in the last days is the emergence of various internet watchmen. The prophets of old were watchmen. They warned God’s people about “what’s goin on” in the religious world. Some–not all–of these websites are inspired by present day prophets.

Their tools are different. All prophets SPEAK because they are compelled by God to do so. Today, the watchman’s voice is heard predominately through the written word, while others may speak out in a video. Some emphasize informing the people about specific false prophets and ministries. That is an exhaustive task that requires a 24/7 devotion, because there are so many false prophets and ministries to expose. Since these prophetic web ministries  only target high-profile people and their false practices,  they are hindered by not covering other ministries that are equally  noteworthy but only known locally.

Much falls between the cracks.

I preach repentance and the return of the Lord. I cast out demons and I receive visions and dreams.

I used to be a watchman on the web exposing false prophets with a website that I have since closed down called “Beware Christian”. I had to literally DROP IT, because it devoured  too much of my time and I found it counterproductive FOR ME as an author, a counselor and a trainer of ministers.  Nevertheless, I thank God for prophetic, watchman type ministries of Midnight Cry, Straight is the Way, Deception in the Church,Equip, Paw Creek and others. I now refer seekers to them and I do “another thing.”

To really answer the question in the title, we need to look at the new testament. The prophet that stands out in the gospel days of the Lord’s own ministry  is John the Baptist. The Lord said that John the Baptist is the greatest of ALL prophets, so we need to look at John’s ministry rather closely. John’s prophetic ministry was essentially that he prepared the people of his day for the FIRST coming of the Lord by preaching repentance. John the Baptist did not have the gift of predicting the future as did the Apostle John. It should be noted that when Jesus called John the Baptist the greatest prophet, the Apostle John was not yet so anointed as a prophet.

However, together, I believe that  BOTH Johns are a composite template of a present day prophet. A present day prophet is one who:

  • Like the Baptist, prepares the last generations for the SECOND coming of the Lord
  • by preaching repentance.  The job is now complicated by the fact that thanks to the organized church and it easy believism, I accept Jesus into my heart, sinner’s prayer practices, so many believe that they are saved but the one who they “accepted” is the fake Jesus, Jesus Sananda Immanuel.
  • Like the Apostle, present day prophets will be given supernatural predictions that are specific to the endtime survival of the elect of God.For example, when we cannot buy and sell, endtime prophets will be able to multiply “the loaves and the fishes” and bring the water from the rocks as did Moses—AS THE HOLY GHOST LEADS!

  • During the reign of the Anti-Christ, end time prophets will move in the supernatural gifts of the Spirit because miracles, healings, and supernatural power will be needed in order for God’s people to survive, a power similar to that of Moses as he brought God’s people out of the bondage of Egypt. Casting out of demons will be one of the prophet’s many supernatural giftings not according to the prophet’s will, but at the will and command of the Holy Ghost.

Spiritual discernment will be essential to distinguish between a false and a true prophet for both shall have supernatural powers. To be prepared and to learn how to try the spirits to see if they be of God, one must be mentored or counseled.  Call 518-477-5759

Throw Jonah OVERBOARD!!!!

By Pamela Sheppard

Consider Jonah and his disobedience and sudden flight from God to a ship filled with men about to be shipwrecked because of Jonah’s
folly. So to find out why they suddenly entered into a severe storm, the men on board cast lots and the lot fell to Jonah. Once Jonah was revealed, he confessed. You would have thought that the men would have immediately picked up Jonah and thrown him off of the ship. Instead, they tried to row faster. Yet when all human effort failed, they reluctantly threw Jonah overboard and peace immediately prevailed for them.

Why didn’t Jonah just jump overboard himself?

Perhaps it was not physically possible and he needed someone to lift him up and cast him into the sea. My suspicion is that as it is in most cases, the people who are bringing storms into our lives are “all about self,” especially when their needs are being met by us.
However what I have learned by experience, is that once the cause of an attack has been uncovered or revealed to me, my next step is to refuse. Sometimes you have to refuse a condition or persuasion that is within your personality or in other words, a refusal may have to be made to your flesh.

For example, if you are a person that must be liked or approved of by others, you will have to refuse your flesh in this regard. If you can answer an emphatic “yes,” to the following statements as conditions of your own flesh, refusal will eventually be in order, if you are going to effectively resist the devil:

 · I try to avoid being alone
· I let other people decide what to do.
· I get upset when people don’t include me in their activities;
· I am stressed if I don’t include other people in my plans;
· I am easily led;
· I hate any form of confrontation;
· I can’t stand being left out of things;
· I am emotionally dependent upon people.

So one way to crucify your flesh is by refusing to act out its nature. Besides refusing your former nature without Christ, there are times when you also have to refuse your former perception or understanding as it relates to spiritual and religious matters. In fact, refusal is one of the ways that we cast down our imaginations, and every thought that is contrary to our obedience to the inner leadings of the Holy Ghost.

For example, if you have assumed that God would not allow the enemy to deceive you under any circumstances, to resist the devil that is assigned to you, you will have to refuse every thought connected to this false assumption. I personally know from experience that I can be deceived by the enemy because I have been, several times in fact.

Here is a personal example. It has been revealed to me that in 1996, I founded a church based upon the nature of my flesh and the leading of the religious demon assigned to me. Certainly, I believed that I was led by God at the time. However, with the discernment and the enlightenment that I have received over time, I can look back now with such understanding.

What was confusing and complicated in 1996 is obvious and simple today.  Once my eyes were fully opened in 2008, I had to exercise refusal by closing the church doors.  Certainly I had to face opposition to closing it. In fact, for a year, services continued in a members home, until her eyes were also opened and the doors of the church were permanently shut, never to open again.  As soon as I took the first step of refusal as I resisted the devil, the next revelation followed.

Since the enemy was the secret force that led me to start this church in the first place, it logically and spiritually follows that each and every person who played a significant role in its operations was sent by the enemy also. In years, several people were involved. Out of all of them, I have contact with two persons from the former church.  Recently, I had a inner sense in my spirit that I was to “back up” in these two relationships.

Since our contact is infrequent, it was not difficult to do. Actually, I have withdrawn in ways that are really not discernible to people
who are busy in the world, living their lives as the world does. So as sleeping dogs lie, people have naturally faded out of my life, without knowing my concerns and reservations. Well, after six years without any personal contact, a former church member who I will call Diana contacted me through facebook.

While Diana was a member, she was perhaps the most involved in my ministry.  Consequently, I discerned immediately that I could
not accept this request. So rather than refuse it, I simply ignored it.  About 3 weeks later, I was half asleep when I heard a voice say to me “Diana is dead.” I ignored the voice and went to sleep. Yet as I woke, the voice repeated it again. I heard “Diana is dead” a second time . Once awake, my mind was filled with accusations. “Diana is not quite dead, but her demise is imminent. You are mean and cold to deny her your facebook friendship.

She needs to be able to read your posts and articles in order to get her life in order before she passes away, and you are cruel to deny her that opportunity.”  My next thought was “this is different.”  Demons rarely accuse me or challenge me for the purpose of imposing guilt and condemnation on me because it doesn’t work. My personality does not readily accept guilt, shame or condemnation. Then when I realized that the enemy was caught in an obvious lie, I asked myself “what is the meaning of this. Doesn’t that demon know that my facebook page is not restricted to friends, but that it is open to he public? Doesn’t he know that Diana can visit my website and search through several videos, articles, newsletters, books, and other tools and resources?” I said to myself, ” most of the demons who deal with me are just not that stupid to be caught out there making such an obvious mistake.”

In two days, the demon’s motive became clear, for Diana sent me a second friendship invitation on facebook. Obviously, the demon KNEW that she would do so and he was setting the stage for me to accept it. Why this particular person?  Because she had been my most promising church member. There are issues between us that are un-resolved. From past experience, I know that a reactivated friendship with Diana would not only be distracting and draining, but clearly, she is a receptive vessel for their use.

The demons desired and then led Diana to contact me, and after 6 years of silence. Worth mentioning, since I remain fond of her, the
enemy hoped that if I thought that her life was about to end, I would accept her facebook request and disobey the revelation that is in my spirit which is “don’t look back. Everyone, including Diana, was sent to you by the devil in the past. Don’t give place to the enemy again.”

So what did I do? Obviously, ignoring the first request did not work. So I had to refuse it. I sent Diana a private facebook message, explaining the situation in a direct yet tactful way, so that she graciously responded without feeling personally rejected.  I am not refusing Diana or any of the other former members. I am resisting the devil that is assigned to me. There is a difference.

Once you overcome a fear of personal and social rejection, the tool of refusal will cause the devil to flee from you.

Do you have relationships, old soul tires, associations and the such that are hard to break?  In particular, with past church people who God has clearly warned you about to stay away from them?

What RESCUE Has Done For Me!

My name is Wenona and I am the editor of RESCUE Ministry newsletter for Pam Sheppard Ministries and RESCUE Online Fellowship. Before coming into RESCUE, I was an independent minister (who previously studied with T.D. Jakes’ Potter’s House School of Ministry) and blogger with my own (online) ministry. At the Lord’s leading, I closed it down and sought direction…and was led to Pamela Sheppard. What I have gained and continue to gain from my fellowship and co-ministering with RESCUE and Pamela Sheppard is fellowship, accountability, camaraderie, mentoring, wisdom, and unconditional love.

EVERY minister needs that. A safe place to land, to go where you can learn some things you THOUGHT you knew, where you can openly or discreetly share of your struggles without fear of exposure, exploitation or rejection. Pamela is unlike any leader I have ever encountered, and I have sat under the most famous of preachers, as well as the unknowns.

Pamela also SERVES the RESCUE family; there are no big ‘I’s’ or little ‘you’s’ in RESCUE. This ministry is here to RESCUE the damaged, the wounded, the broken-hearted, the abused sheep, the Remnant, from the clutches of religiosity. And last, but certainly not least, Pamela is like the older women in the Bible who teach the younger…young enough to still relate to the very real struggles of women (of ALL ages) in ministry, but yet old enough to have gained some INVALUABLE WISDOM along her own journey. That is a rare thing in THIS day and time!I get emotional when I think about it…but I consider Pamela a TRUE spiritual mother. Other ‘first ladies’ and ‘mothers of the church’ who I ran into (in the church) were always stand-offish, fake, unloving, always seeking attention and adoration like queens. NOT PAM! Pam serves. She loves. Sometimes she tells the truth…and it may hurt. But she LOVES YOU enough to TELL THE TRUTH! As a woman in ministry, RESCUE has proven to be invaluable to me. Women in ministry need SPECIAL support..and you will find that a whole lot more at RESCUE!

And for those of you who are concerned about your individual ‘ministries,’ if they will be swallowed up in RESCUE. Let me tell you this: if you believe God has called you to what you are already doing and don’t wish to abandon that, Pamela makes no demands of your ministry to come up under hers…like they do in the institutional church. She is very supportive and will continue to be supportive of you. Like I said before, RESCUE is a SUPPORTIVE ministry. I used to be a lone ranger….but I tell you. Being a lone ranger (particularly in ministry) is a dangerous, foolish thing. ESPECIALLY AS A WOMAN! We all need someone to see the blind spots for us while we travel on this journey. And sometimes our rear view mirrors are off focus a bit and foggy. Don’t do it ALONE!

The Religious Lie of Backsliding and Apostasy, Part 2

In the last post, I discussed the terms ‘backsliding’ and ‘apostasy’ as they are found in the Bible and what they mean in their proper context.

I also touched on the fact that the word ‘apostasy’ does not appear in the Bible one time, even though the concept of apostasy, or falling away, does.

I want to talk a little more on just where the word apostasy and its teaching came from.

Apostasy is defined as the formal disaffiliation from or abandonment or renunciation of a religion by a person. One who commits apostasy (or who apostatises) is known as an apostate. The term apostasy is used by sociologists to mean renunciation and criticism of, or opposition to, a person’s former religion.

It is a total desertion of or departure from one’s religion.  The Greek word for apostasy is ‘apostasia,’ which means ‘a defection, departure, revolt or rebellion.’

Apostasy was introduced by the Catholic Church after she persecuted the Early Church and martyred its leaders.  It was instituted as a means to control and regulate faithfulness and ‘faith’ to a religious organization and system.

One accused of apostasy from the catholic church was excommunicated, or kicked out of the church.  Depending upon what the defector taught, some were labeled a heretic, which could be punishable by jail time.  The worst of heretics were executed.

As time went on, apostasy and correlating punishments for apostasy were adopted by other religions, including Judaism and Islam.

Apostasy in many religions is punishable by death!

If one renunciates his or her religion, they can die.

Below are some countries and their penalty for apostasy (or backsliding) from the national religion of Islam:

  • Iran – illegal (death penalty)
  • Egypt – illegal (up to 3 years imprisonment)
  • United Arab Emirates – illegal (death penalty)
  • Somalia – illegal (death penalty)
  • Afghanistan – illegal (death penalty, although the U.S. and other coalition members have put pressure that has prevented recent executions)
  • Saudi Arabia – illegal (death penalty, although there have been no recently reported executions)
  • Sudan – illegal (death penalty, although there have only been recent reports of torture, and not of execution)
  • Qatar – illegal (death penalty)
  • Yemen – illegal (death penalty)
  • Sri Lanka – illegal (Prison sentences for 10 year) (Mahinda Rajapakse regime has passed anti religious change Act in the parliament)
  • Malaysia – illegal in five of 13 states (fine, imprisonment, and flogging)
  • Mauritania – illegal (death penalty)
  • Morocco – illegal to proselytise conversion (15 years jail, flogging)
  • Jordan – possibly illegal (fine, jail, child custody loss, marriage annulment) although officials claim otherwise, convictions are recorded for apostasy

Isn’t that amazing?  Can you imagine?

Now if we were to take the common religious definition of the Apostate Church as it is taught in most pulpits here in America on Sunday morning, then a lot of folks would have to be stoned!

A LOT of churches, no, MOST churches, keep people in religious bondage by making them believe that if the people are not faithful to a local congregation and do whatever that local pastor tells them to (even if it is in direct contradiction to the PROPER CONTEXT of scripture), then they are being unfaithful to GOD.

And because so many people believe this lie, they are afraid to confront error (even when it is blatant) and even more afraid to leave error!

We are not in Iran, or Morroco, or Jordan where people can serve time or be killed for turning their backs on a family or nation’s religion.

To be set free from religion that was instituted by the catholic church and that has placed so many in religious and spiritual torment and bondage to step into the light of the TRUTH, is NOT Apostasy!

To turn your back on an institutionalized religion that was started by the Roman Catholic church is to walk by faith into the dispensation of time God will have you to walk in…walk while there is light….

God never expected us to stay in one church age.  He always expected us to move forward to the next age!

You are NOT backslidden if you do not attend a local assembly, or don’t give tithes or dues to a fellowship.

You are NOT backslidden if you are questioning everything you ever thought what once true, holding it to the light of GOD”S HOLY WORD, asking the HOLY GHOST to reveal to you EVERY ERROR you have ever been exposed to and received.  It is called examining one’s salvation (2 Corinthians 13:5).

You are NOT backslidden if you realize that even though you spoke in tongues more than Paul, but you have come to realize that the tongues that have gone forth and are going forth today are NOT from God, so you will NOT participate in glossolalia of any kind.

You are NOT backslidden if you confront error.  It may be necessary to confront, so you can see the true colors of your leaders.  (Because I guarantee:  most leaders in the religious system will not appreciate confrontation of any kind on what they teach or preach!)

You are NOT backslidden because you wear pants, makeup or jewelry!

The only ones who SHOULD be concerned about being apostate are the ones who do not LOVE THE TRUTH!

If you are NOT a lover of truth, YOU WILL FALL AWAY!!!

Don’t be placed in religious bondage to the lie of how THEY teach what it is to be backslidden, or apostate.

The RELIGIOUS Lie of Backsliding and Apostasy, Part 1

I remember hearing of backsliding and the apostate church all of the time when I was a churchgoer.

Often, preachers would use these two terms interchangeably in hell-fire and brimstone preaching that was often used to scare people into ‘getting right’ and ‘getting saved.’

I want to make a bold statement/stand:

The popular perception that we have held of backsliding has been grossly misinterpreted and downright error has been spread as it pertains to backsliding and apostasy.

The concept of backsliding as it has been so popularly taught in the institutional church was applicable in the OLD Testament ONLY.

“Are you saying that one cannot backslide, or become apostate?”

Let’s look in the Word of God.  I did not find the word ‘apostate’ in the Word of God one time.  I did find the word ‘backsliding’ in the bible 15 times….all in the Old Testament.

The very last time I see the word ‘backsliding’ in the Word of God is in Hosea 14.  The Hebrew word used here for ‘backsliding‘ is ‘mĕshuwbah,’ which means ‘apostasy or a turning back or away.

In Hosea 14:4, God promises to heal the backslidings of Israel.

When God heals, that healing lasts.  It is done.  There is no reversal of healing…that’s when GOD HEALS!

Same applies to HIS saving power.  When GOD SAVES, IT IS FINISHED!

There IS no backsliding to someone who has been born again, washed in the blood of the Lamb of God!

So when we go to the New Testament to find if the word or the idea of backsliding is there, I found two instances.  One in Acts 21:21 and 2 Thessalonians 2:3.

Acts 21:21

And they are informed of thee, that thou teach all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.

In this passage of scripture, the ‘apostasy’ or falling away associated with backsliding is used by the word ‘forsake’ in this verse.  So what was being forsaken?  THAT’S the question!

What was being forsaken was the law of Moses!  The rituals of Judaism that required that parents circumcise their sons.

Now, of course, because we live in a different dispensation, one where Judaism and all of her rituals are no longer NECESSARY to be heeded because God told us to circumcise OUR hearts, not our flesh!  That circumcision does not take place except when one is submitted to the HOLY GHOST and is BORN AGAIN.

So forsaking, turning away from the religious practice of circumcision is NECESSARY so that we can embrace the concept and reality of having faith in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and in HIS Cleansing Blood to wash away our sins.

If we continue to hold on to Judaism, we make the Cross of no effect and cannot be born again!!!!!

2 Thessalonians 2:3
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.

Now, let’s look at this in its proper context.  If you read the whole chapter of 2 Thessalonians 2, you will see further down that this is talking about what is going to happen when the Antichrist is manifested in the earth.  The SPIRIT of Antichrist has been setting the stage, if you will, for centuries for his appearing.  And the Word says it will happen!

How is this going to happen, or has BEEN happening???

Well, verses 9-12 says:

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

1.  Well, first of all, signs and wonders has been worshipped so much that now most people expect to see signs and wonders or they don’t receive the Word that God gives through you.  This past century especially, with the onset of Azusa, many people have come to expect signs and wonders to always be representative of the Holy Ghost.  They have failed to realize that the enemy is the master magician.  He knows how to do signs and wonders, too.  Has been practicing it for a long, LONG time!

2.  The institutionalization of the church has made it easy for the spirit of Antichrist to control and manipulate the masses.  THIS is why he set it up in the first place!  How better to control a group of people than to get them to congregate.  Then get a whole bunch of congregations to come together in a spirit of ecumenism (the merging of all faiths, churches, fellowships, denominations, etc), even at the expense of truth, in a spirit of fake love and unity.

3.  The way all of this has been able to take place-along with all of the other maladies of the institutional church-is because people have lost a LOVE FOR THE TRUTH!  When a LOVE FOR THE TRUTH is absent, then GOD HIMSELF SENDS A STRONG DELUSION!  The Word says HE sends it so that HE makes SURE they will believe A LIE!!!!

Without a love for the truth, one CANNOT be saved!!!!

In that passage of scripture, I present to you that it is the religious BUT NOT SAVED FOLKS who this great ‘falling away’ is applied to!

Read 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 again.

The ones who are going to fall away from the faith are ones who were NEVER SAVED or LOVED THE TRUTH from the beginning!

They were religious.  They attended temple, synagogue, mass, church.  They served in ministry.  They ate with Presidents and Kings.  They performed many signs and wonders.  They had a great following.

Otherwise, they could NOT backslide.  They could NOT turn away from the faith…that is, the faith that is in Jesus Christ of Nazareth ALONE!

For centuries, religious people have tried to make people do right, and be right and get saved by their own works.  By scaring folks into doing what’s right.

By making the masses believe that if they are faithful to a church, a denomination, a ministry, a fellowship, an organization, or a man or a woman, then that faithfulness equates salvation and faithfulness to GOD.

That whole teaching started right around the time the catholic/institutional church began.  The term ‘apostate’ never came into existence until the 2nd century, according to the Catholic Encyclopedia.

Roman Catholicism introduced the concept of apostasy!

I hope that sinks in….I got to break this up into two, maybe three parts.

I am going to tear down some strongholds and correct some very real religious errors that have kept so many in religious bondage!

If you are looking for a online fellowship where you can learn more about the REAL end-time apostate church, RESCUE is here for you!

Is God Telling Me To Leave?

By Pamela Sheppard

An Excerpt from “Come Out of Her, God’s People.”

Whether you are ready to stop going to church or not, especially if you consider yourself “a word person,” then let the words of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, speak to you out of Revelation Chapter 18 verse 4.

In this scripture, the Lord Himself declared “Come Out of Her, My People.” I challenge the elect to ask themselves 3 simple questions concerning the Lord’s warning, as follows:

1.  Where are “God’s People?” Could the scriptures be referring to a particular nation or country? No. God’s people are in every      nation. Even though America claims to be a Christian, people of diverse persuasions can agree on this one point, namely, that America is really NOT a Christian nation.  Let’s face it. The universal place where God’s people assemble for worship is “in the organized church.” It’s the only place that makes sense. In this day and time, without a passport and finances, who can walk out of their native country very easily and re-locate elsewhere? In truth, mass exodus from anywhere today is practically impossible. Jesus would not
command us to do the impossible.

However, anywhere in the world, we can come out of the organized church by simply no longer attending.

2.  What generation of God’s people is Jesus speaking to? Most of the book of Revelation is about the end of the church age. If the 7 churches in the book of Revelation represent chronological symbols of church ages throughout history, then Jesus is talking to the final generation, the church at Laodicea.  It’s a no-brainer that no other church era on earth could top our own generation in a claim to be “rich and in need of nothing.” (Revelation 3:17)

3.   Are we at the end of the church age? For all intents and purposes, if we are the church at Laodicea, where those who preach the prosperity gospel actually DO brag on how rich they are, spiritual blindness is clearly and undeniably rampant. When churchgoers haven’t a clue as to the meaning of repentance, rebirth and the resurrection and therein believe that they are saved but they are not, what could be a stronger sign that “we are near or even at the end of the church age?

So if you answer in the affirmative to all 3 questions, then Jesus has spoken to YOU! He is warning you at this very moment to come out of the organized church, and if you don’t, you are going to receive of her plagues.  You don’t have to be a bible scholar, a prophet or even a rocket scientist to answer these 3 questions. Once you have your answer, then if you are a true believer in Jesus Christ, you will know, without a shadow of a doubt that you must “come out of Her.”

In a nutshell, ONE primary reason stands out above all others that should be enough for the elect to decide to come out of Her. It’s because fallen angels—religious devils—have infiltrated the entire church system. Certainly, they have no part in the true Body of Christ because the real “church” is not a building made with hands. However, through compromise and doctrinal distortions of all kinds, there is an invisible, imposter god undergirding every edifice, regardless of how sincere and faithful the leadership.

Consequently, if you are unknowingly worshiping an imposter, than you are unknowingly practicing idolatry and breaking the 10 Commandments. The punishment for idolatry is a release of the curses or “the plagues.” (Deuteronomy 28) When judgment falls, churchgoers will not be able to find the secret place of the Most High, nor abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Paul warned the Corinthians that they should “flee fornication.” In the spirit, fornication is idolatry. In the words of Klein and Spears in their book “Devils and Demons,” these co-authors offer the elect some sober and sound advice:

“We need to run, not walk—-as fast as we can and as far away as we can get—from any devils and demons that masquerade as our great God of the Universe.”

Putting my interpretation of who actually is “Her” of Revelation 18:4, I have also considered several other scriptures in both testaments. For example, in the old testament, whenever the Father referred to the idolatry of the children of Israel, He used symbols of gender, with Himself as masculine and His people as feminine. In fact, God command the prophet Hosea to marry an adulterous woman to stand as a metaphorical comparison of Himself and the children of Israel’s practicing the religions of heathen nations. (Hosea 1:1-3)

Similarly, Jesus is the metaphorical Bridegroom while the elect—His people—are the Bride. In both testaments, idolatry is synonymous with fornication or sex outside of marriage. When God’s people practiced a false religion, it is written that they “went a whoring.” In the new testament, the Lord chided the first church at Ephesus with a gender based reproach when He warned “you have lost your first love.” (Rev.2:4) In response to the idolatry in the church at Thyatira, the Lord declared yet another gender based statement with “I’ll cast you into a bed and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. (Rev. 2:20-22)

There are several more examples that in themselves could be the subject of a book or two, particularly “the Songs of Solomon.” In keeping with the biblical pattern, it stands to reason that in our times, the “Her” of Revelation 18:4 is an idolatrous religion practiced predominately behind church walls.

Playing the devil’s advocate with yet another question posed in an attempt to try the spirits to see if they be of God, I asked myself the following questions: : Suppose I am completely wrong and I have absolutely misinterpreted the scriptures and the “Her” in Revelation
18:4 is really NOT the organized church? To that, my response is “I will have lost nothing because I gained absolutely nothing from the church except error and deception.”

As I look back in order to present my decades of spiritual history within a well known denominational system,” chapters 2 to 6 will progressively unfold that not only did the organized church have nothing at all to do with my salvation or my spiritual edification, but in fact, the entire religious system served as an enemy to my soul. A root in dry ground, I did more than merely survive. Showered with God’s grace and mercy, I actually thrived in a dark, un-nurturing place— a spiritually dangerous, hostile spiritual environment. If God Himself had not been on my side, I am convinced that I would have withered on the vine and died—spirit, soul and body.

Am I Under A Curse? Or A Plague? Part 2

By Pamela Sheppard

Rather than a curse, what you may have is a cultural predisposition that includes patterns and trends, as well as a background or upbringing that you became acculturated by.

Here are some of them.

1.  Patterns and trends— Within your family tree is a long line of substance abusers giving the appearance of a genetic predisposition. This is NOT a curse but a predisposition or tendency toward a certain lifestyle. Social and cultural factors have been influenced by unseen demonic forces wherein by example, you have developed a vulnerability to the substance abuse demon.

A review of Deuteronomy Ch. 27 points to the following as open doors:

…idolatry or witchcraft …oppression of the weak
…sodomy …dishonoring of parents
…incest …theft
…injustice …perjury

2.   A background in the occult or false religions—If you have practiced divination, sorcery, roots, santeria, obeah or some form of witchcraft, ie. astrology, yoga, acupuncture, hypnosis, transcendental meditation, chanting, reincarnation and the use of a Ouija board, to name a few, you have opened a demonic doorway.  These practices have also been linked to religious idolatry or involvement in mediumship or psychic phenomena. I would include in this list a family history of Catholicism, Mormonism, Hinduism, Buddhism, any religion that calls itself Christian, but in any way adds to or detracts from the gospel of Jesus Christ, particularly the divinity of the Son of God.

3.   Pressures in early childhood — When as a child you were denied basic emotional needs for love, safety and self esteem, you became vulnerable to demons. Physical and sexual abuse are included here.

4.   Emotional shock or sustained emotional pressure — Traumatic events such as violence, incest or rape as well as a sudden and frightening accidents. These kind of episodes are breeding grounds for demonic activity. Intense fear can also lead to denial and escapism.

5.  Sinful acts or habits —Demons have a right of access when you made a conscious decision to practice sin. Whoever practices sin over a prolonged period of time is actually imitating the devil’s nature and character and cuts himself off from the power of God.
In particular, demons are attracted to sins of long duration such as sexual immorality, including not only fornication but sodomy or

6.  Negative emotions  —Anger, hatred, unforgiveness, rejection, and self-pity can lead to rebellion. Rebellion is as “the sin of

7.   Character defects — Unaware of the impact of unseen forces on your personality, demons have been empowered to develop your mind, emotions, feelings, and will. Your personality has become a mixture of your own soul under the influence of demons.
Though last, character defects is where the bulk of the work is targeted in the therapeutic model I have developed called “deliverance counseling.”  A major counseling goal is to help you to recognize hidden battlegrounds in your own life so that you can find victory in the blood of Jesus.

I’ll restate the truth. There is no such thing as a generational curse. Why not? Because The blood of Jesus broke all curses at the cross 2000 years ago.

Am I Under A Curse? Or A Plague? Part 1

By Pamela Sheppard

Do you believe that curses have been passed on to you from your ancestors, as far back as four generations? If this is what you believe, then you are in denial of the scripture that assures you that those who are in Christ have been delivered from all the power of darkness and the wicked one cannot touch us. (Col. 1:12; 1 John 5:18).

No curse can go through the cross of Christ and have dominion over those who are in Christ. We are not under a curse once we have come through the cross. Every spiritual blessing is for us who are in Christ Jesus (Eph. 1:3). Anyone that insists they are cursed needs to know who they are in Christ, and maybe who Christ is as well. “We have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but the Spirit of adoption (Rom.8:15).

What I have found is that those who have been involved in deliverance ministries have actually brought a curse upon themselves by accepting a specific generational curse as a fact.  As a result, their belief in this teaching actually creates a self-fulfilling prophecy that the worker and the captive actually bring to pass together.  As Paul warned the Galatians, any one who adds to or detracts
from the gospel of Jesus Christ will become CURSED.

Ironically, the generational curses teaching adds to and detracts from the gospel of Jesus Christ, particularly the power of the cross. This teaching promotes a law that hinders grace, and it is by grace that we are set free from the curse of the law. Consequently, those who uphold the “generational curses” doctrine which states that Satan and his demons create curses for Christians because of ones ancestors, actually opens the door to a curse.

Taken a step further, this false teaching actually creates the fear that put those who believe in it in even more bondage than what they may originally have sustained! We as believers “have not received a spirit of fear but power, love and a sound mind.” If you believe this teaching, you are risking the soundness of your mental state, bringing on further anxiery and stress that may “cause you to faint”
when you enter into spiritual battle against demons.

Therefore, if you stand in spiritual warfare with a deliverance worker against a self proclaimed curse that was never there in the first place, you forfeit the grace that is needed to set you free. This teaching is particularly dangerous because it implies that Jesus didn’t break the curse on the cross.  As such, it stands to reason that if you believe that you are in bondage to a generational curse, then you must not be saved.

If you are not saved then you are STILL under the power of darkness and Jesus did not remove your sins and His blood has not cleansed you from sin. Therefore, you have NOT been translated out of darkness and the spiritual weapons of Ephesians 6 will not work for you, if you are in bondage to a generational curse.

So what does the devil get out of this false teaching?

He gets those who teach it and those who believe it to lose grace and to weaken their faith.

Recently, with the death of the man of God, David Wilkerson, some deliverance workers posted on facebook that Wilkerson died  because he was subject to a curse, put on him by witches as retaliation for his exposing witches and witchcraft in the house of God. These workers claimed that they were going to interrogate demons, uncover who was responsible and return curses.

According to the scriptures, if they are correct, then David Wilkerson was not a child of God. If a man who constantly preached the cross was subject to a curse, therefore, he was not under the protection of the cross and the enemy was able to not only touch Wilkerson, but kill him outright. I know that David Wilkerson was a true and faithful prophet of God so no witches or demons were capable of putting a curse on him.

So what happens in instances like these?

Consider this. There is a difference between a curse and a plague.

By the cross, Jesus delivers us from a curse because when we become born again, old things become new and the past is washed in the precious blood of the Lamb, which includes any sins that your ancestors may have committed that could possibly affect YOU.

A curse is specific in that it is an appeal to a supernatural power for harm to come to specific people, places and things. A plague is “different.”

A plague is much more general. Its like a tornado. When it hits NO ONE is spared from its effects and even the innocent who are simply in the wrong place at the time of the tornado. The innocent get swept up with the guilty.

Jesus warned the elect of God to “come out of Her, lest ye be partakers of HER sins and receive of HER plagues.”

If He is referring to the organized church, (and I believe that He is) then the innocent will be partakers of the plagues along with the guilty.

A plague is a widespread affliction, a sudden destructive influx or an outbreak. It can also be persistent, but it is also infectious—in the spirit, a plague can be compared to a highly infectious disease like the bubonic plague. Those who hear the warning and continue to remain in a defiled place are subject to a plague, and the elect of God are not exempt from it.

Since most of those who come to me to be set free from demonic torment were also attending a church that could not deliver them, I simply asked them to give me 90 days of no church attendance. Those who can’t do so are not delivered.

They remain not cursed but “plagued.”

Let a word to the wise be sufficient.
